How the GM Military Discount Works
The GM Military Discount has a number of terms and conditions. What follows is a summary; your Chevy dealer will discuss the specifics and answer any questions you may have.
Program Overview
Most new models from the GM family of vehicles will qualify for $500 bonus cash from GM Financial. This offer, in turn, can be combined with your trade-in value, plus most available Chevy lease and finance offers. However, it cannot be applied to past purchases.
Who Qualifies, and How?
The program is open to personnel on active duty, retired or medically retired personnel, sponsored spouses, and veterans, subject to certain terms and conditions. All you have to do is:
- Pick your vehicle from our many eligible models
- Locate your local Chevy dealership
- Get an authorization code online and bring it with you to your test drive
Which Models Qualify?
Aside from the Chevy Corvette and certain base trims, most new Chevy and GMC models qualify. If you have questions about a particular vehicle, program details, or Chevy financing, your Chevy dealer will discuss them in full.

Q: How do I show proof of eligibility?
A: Your identity will be verified through ID.me, which will give you an authorization code to bring to your Chevy dealership.
Q: How long is that authorization valid?
A: It’s valid for 90 days; if it expires before use, you’ll have to obtain a new code.
Q: Can I still get financing outside of GM Financial?
A: Yes, but you may not get the same APR, or qualify for certain auto lease and finance offers, outside of GM Financial.
Q: Is this limited to dealer stock?
A: No. You can apply the discount toward vehicles ordered from participating dealerships.
Q: Can I use this offer at any GM dealership?
A: No, because not all dealerships participate. Call ahead to check dealership participation and any changes to program terms and conditions.
